Houseless Advisory Committee

A shortage of affordable housing and homelessness in both large and small cities represents a statewide crisis that must be tackled by all levels of government, philanthropy, nonprofits, and businesses working together on collaborative solutions.

While Depoe Bay is not currently as affected as the bigger cities, we do have a houseless presence within the City. As a first step to addressing the present issue within Depoe Bay and ensuring the City is prepared for the future, the City Council formed an advisory committee with membership from business owners and residents to start to address the City's understanding of the situation and the actions the City can take to resolve issues in a way that doesn’t negatively impact the community but still supports taking care of the present and future homeless population of Depoe Bay.

The Committee is advisory to the City Council and provides information to the City Council in written reports regarding housing and homeless issues within the City.
